With suggestions coming from social media sites, such as Facebook, and word-of-mouth, Hauntworld has compiled a bone-chilling list of haunted houses and other attractions. The sites all have a strong Facebook fan bases. Here are the top seven attractions from Hauntworld's list. 7. 13th Floor Haunted House, Phoenix Actually two haunted houses, the magazine calls this feature a maze of terror and insanity. Not to mention big -- with more than 100 performers. The property includes a little something for everyone -- zombies, mansions, graveyards and asylums -- as patrons navigate through an apocalyptic setting. Check out the Facebook page here. 6. Cutting Edge Haunted House, Fort Worth This haunted house has two distinctions. First, it was built inside a real meat packing plant (the perfect place to dispose of a body), with all the machinery and tools still intact. Netherworld Haunted House, Atlanta This southern haunted house is known for having the most original monsters and creative scares, which have many horror fans calling this one the top horror attraction in the country. Headless Horseman Haunted Houses and Hay Rides, Ulster Park, NY Headless Horseman features a massive corn maze, six haunted houses, a haunted hayride, side shows, five gift shops, four places to eat, and actors riding around dressed as the Headless Horseman himself. It's one of the only haunted houses in America that presells every ticket before opening for the season. Haunted asylums, claustrophobic cellars, a real snake-infested Louisiana swamp, nightly voodoo shows, hidden subterranean passages and even a prehistoric ice cave are all woven together. Darkness Haunted House, St. Louis The Darkness Haunted House is a 100-year-old, two story warehouse and includes three attractions in one location for a single price. The site includes the two-story attraction known as The Darkness, a haunted house and Monster Museum filled with real horror movie collectibles, full-sized horror images, and life-like monsters. Bates Motel, Philadelphia The nation's spookiest of the spooky attractions might sound familiar to fans of the Hitchcock thriller, Psycho. Tthe Bates Motel Haunted House and Hayride is a unique for several reasons. It's situated in a 200-year-old forest full of overgrown trees creating the ultimate dark trail even during a full moon. A digital custom soundtrack, pyrotechnics and continuous scares throughout the ride make it truly haunting. The adjacent Pennhurst Asylum is located in a 100-year-old, abandoned mental institute.
