Facebook made more progress in the mobile gifting arena Monday, as the social network announced that the newest update of its iOS application will include Gifts, for users in the U.S., at least. In this version of Facebook’s Apple app, the site also upgraded its Messenger and Camera features. The Next Web reported that some users are experiencing problems with this update, but a Facebook spokesperson told AllFacebook that the issues have been resolved.
Facebook for iOS version 5.1 includes several popular features gleaned from its Messenger and Camera apps. Now, users will be able to swipe left anywhere in the app to quickly see who is online and send a message. People can also add the friends they message the most to the top of their favorites list.
In a feature borrowed from the standalone Camera app, users can share multiple pictures faster with a new upload flow.
Additionally, U.S. users who have access to Facebook Gifts will be able to send real gifts to their friends on the go through the iOS app.
However, according to The Next Web, several users were encountering problems, such as a broken news feed and the inability to load timelines. Some users also said that once they’ve logged out, they can’t get back in. A Facebook spokesperson told AllFacebook that the site has fixed these errors:
They found the issue and have addressed it server-side. Should be working fine as of 30 minutes ago.
