An AllThingsD report notes that Facebook told a roundtable of reporters that the company will not hold an f8 conference this year.

However, a Facebook spokesperson was noncommittal to AllFacebook when asked about f8:

Facebook hasn’t announced anything yet, but will be sure to let you know if/when we do.

Facebook uses f8 to show off major developments, similar to Google’s I/O or Apple’s WWDC events.
