How Facebook Engineering Will Be Boston Strong

Facebook announced that it will assemble an engineering team in Boston, which will be led by Ryan Mack, an infrastructure engineer who was responsible for much of the back end of Timeline.

Facebook announced that it will assemble an engineering team in Boston, which will be led by Ryan Mack, an infrastructure engineer who was responsible for much of the back end of Timeline.

The social network added that the Boston engineering team will focus on infrastructure projects in areas such as data storage, networking, security, and language run times.

Mack wrote in a note on the Facebook Boston page:

About two-and-a-half years ago, my wife was offered a job at an awesome biotech startup in Boston, so I moved to the East Coast with her and joined a couple of other Facebook engineers working remotely from the Boston area.
