According to TechCrunch, Facebook will launch its app for Windows 8 first, with a focus on tablets, as Microsoft is also focusing on those devices with Windows 8.1. The social network is building the app itself.

Ballmer also announced that Flipboard and the National Football League were set to launch their own apps for both operating systems, TechCrunch reported.
