Facebook has agreed to acquire Parse, a two-year-old company that provides back-end support for cross-platform apps, the companies said today.
Facebook has agreed to acquire Parse, a two-year-old company that provides back-end support for cross-platform apps, the companies said today.
“By making Parse a part of Facebook Platform, we want to enable developers to rapidly build apps that span mobile platforms and devices,” Facebook said in its announcement.
Facebook recently bet on the Android platform with Home, but iOS continues to lead mobile innovation, in part because Android apps require developers to accommodate more devices and more versions of the operating system.
