Events have been getting plenty of attention from Facebook of late, and now Eventseeker, a new iPhone application from city and event guide provider Wcities, can tap into users’ Facebook profiles and mine information that enables it to suggest events they might be interested in.

Eventseeker allows users to search for events, buy tickets, and follow artists, and when connected with Facebook, the app scans users’ accounts to determine their favorite sports teams, musical artists, events they’ve attended, and artists they follow, as well as scanning the music libraries on their mobile devices, using that information to serve alerts and provide recommendations on upcoming events.
