Emerging popular Android apps: Enchanted Realm, Ceramic Destroyer and Minecraft

After a brief absence our Android charts return. On the top grossing charts, free-to-play games dominated, with newer apps like Game Insight’s Enchanted Realm and the Android version of Tiny Village performing well. On the free charts Runnergames scored a hit with its new game Ceramic Destroyer. This week’s top grossing Android apps Live Holdem Poker Pro - DragonPlay’s Live Holdem Poker Pro takes the No. 1 spot this week on the Android charts. One of three poker apps that is usually circling the top spot, Live Holdem Poker Pro has been installed more than 10 million times and was last updated on Jan. 16. The app features more than 200 virtual gifts that players can send to their friends. Zynga Poker - Zynga’s rival poker client, Zynga Poker comes in at No. 2 on the top grossing charts this week. Installs of the app have been on the rise in the past 30 days and the app was updated on Feb. 10 for bug fixes and stability enhancements. Tiny Village - TinyCo’s prehistoric-themed city builder Tiny Village is a hit on both the iOS and Android charts this week, coming it and No. 8 on the top grossing Android charts. The Android version of the app was updated on Feb. 23 and now includes all the same features as the iOS version. Tiny Village has been installed over 1 million times. Pirates of the Caribbean - Disney’s game Pirates of the Caribbean experiences a surge in popularity this week and lands in the No. 15 spot on the top grossing chart. Originally released in November, the game is a social pirate game that challenges players to become masters of the sea. Enchanted Realm - Game Insight appears to have another hit on its hands with its latest game, Enchanted Realm sitting in the No. 19 spot on our charts. The game tasks players with re-building a fantasy kingdom that has fallen on hard times thanks to an evil sorceress, but also features a character-driven fantasy story to advance the plot. Players can also share rewards with their Facebook friends. This week’s top free Android apps Facebook for Android - Unsurprisingly, Facebook’s official app is this week’s No. 1 free Android app. Facebook rolled out a massive update to the app on Feb. 16 that included an update to the app’s push notifications and access to mobile timeline. Ceramic Destroyer - Independent developer Runnergames has scored a hit with its latest title Ceramic Destroyer. Released earlier this month and already over a million installs, the game is a puzzle game that challenges players shoot projectiles to destroy a target. Ceramic Destroyer is currently the No. 4 ranked free Android app. Moto X Mayhem Free - Vancouver-based Occamy Games comes in at the No. 9 spot this week with its racing game Moto X Mayhem. The game has seen a sharp spike in installs over the past month and has been downloaded more than one million times. The game monetizes through in-app purchases of additional content. Cartoon Wars - Gamevil’s blend of arcade action, tower defense and real time strategy elements, Cartoon Wars takes the No. 14 spot this week. The game features more than 20 different types of units and 16 different upgrades, a worldwide ranking system and boasts an infinite amount of stages. The game is free-to-play and monetizes through in-app purchases. Word Search - French developer Melimots keeps up its Android chart momentum with its game Word Search hitting the No. 15 spot on the free android charts this week. A word search game boasting infinite play, automatic resizing and a best times list, the app was last updated on Feb. 3. This week’s top paid Android apps Minecraft - The hotly anticipated update to Mojang’s runaway mobile hit Minecraft pushes the app into the No. 10 spot this week. The game now features a survival mode, new blocks, sheep, different tools and a day and night cycle. Minecraft costs $6.99. Camera Zoom FX - Androidslide’s photography app Camera Zoom FX is this week’s No. 11 paid app. On sale for 40 percent off, the app currently costs $2.99. Osmos HD - Independent developer Hemisphere Games grabs the No. 15 spot on the paid Android charts this week with its game Osmos HD. Although download volume is tapering off, the game has still been downloaded more than 50,000 times. Osmos HD comes with two gameplay modes and costs $4.99. Plants vs. Zombies - EA Popcap’s biggest mobile hit, Plants vs. Zombies comes in at No. 21 on the paid app charts this week. The game features 50 levels and 10 achievements for players to collect. The game costs $2.99. Robo Defense - Lupis Labs closes out our charts in the No. 23 position with its ultra-popular tower defense title Robo Defense. The full, paid version of the game features five maps and unlimited levels of difficulty. Robo Defense costs $2.99 and has been installed more than 500,000 times.
