This week’s paid charts start with a familiar description — once again, Rovio leads the top paid app chart with Angry Birds Space, holding the No. 1 spot on the iPhone and iPad. However, the momentum behind Zynga’s Draw Something does appear to be slowing as the app drops to No. 3 on the iPhone and iPad charts.
Several new games also posted strong debuts. Gameloft’s Shark Dash takes the No. 4 spot on the iPhone charts and the No. 2 spot on the iPad charts. The $0.99 puzzle game was released on April 19. Miniclip’s Hambo, also a $0.99 game released on April 19 takes the No. 11 spot on the iPhone charts.
Zach Gage’s indie-hit SpellTower also continues to perform strongly, taking the No. 21 spot on the iPhone charts and the No. 6 spot on the iPad charts. Still on sale for $0.99, the strategy word game has been propelled to the top of the paid charts by a strong word-of-mouth campaign.
