40 percent of people driving while using their phones are checking social media, and 14 percent of those checking social media are checking Instagram.
As if texting wasn’t dangerous enough, some prefer to take it even further, mugging for selfies while driving. Auto Insurance Center examined 70,000 Instagram posts with driving-related hashtags to find out when, where and how often people are posting selfies while operating moving vehicles.
Citing data from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, the report notes that distracted driving is a serious problem: 660,000 drivers user their smartphones while on the road, nearly 40 percent of which are using mobile and social apps.What’s
