Disney, NimbleBit launch Star Wars: Tiny Death Star on mobile

[caption id="attachment_37990" align="alignnone" width="650"] Image via Disney Interactive[/caption] Disney Interactive and NimbleBit have officially launched Star Wars: Tiny Death Star on mobile, transforming the galaxy far, far away into an 8-bit paradise. The game allows players to join Emperor Palpatine and Darth Vader on their quest to create the best of all Death Stars, with gameplay that’s similar to NimbleBit’s original Tiny Tower. [caption id="attachment_38915" align="alignleft" width="270"] Image via Disney, NimbleBit[/caption] Tiny Death Star allows players to build over 80 different floors, with all businesses and residences themed in the style of the Star Wars universe. Guests will arrive on the elevator, and can be taken to their chosen floor. Players must have apartments to house new galactic bitizens, and they can put those characters to work earning coins in the four expected business categories: food, service, recreation and retail. Each bitizen has a particular skill-set and dream job, resulting in bonus earnings when placed in the appropriate role, but they can be forced to work in any job to simply fill a store and unlock more earnings potential. Players must order goods before they can be sold, adding the expected waiting cycle to the game, but, as usual, these jobs can be sped up with cash, the game’s premium currency. While players can allow their Death Stars to run passively, they’re also encouraged to complete quests assigned by Emperor Palpatine. These may ask players to stock specific items in stores, build specific kinds of floors and so on, and they’ll provide prizes like bonus coins when completed. As players make progress in Tiny Death Star, they’ll be introduced to Rebel spies, including Luke Skywalker and Princess Leia. These characters must be captured before they can escape, while underground Imperial levels can be constructed to craft special items to aid the Empire in its fight. Tiny Death Star is now available to download for free on iOS, Android and Windows Phone devices.
