There are a number of iPhone apps that simplifies the process of stitching together photos to create a panoramic view or a VR (virtual reality) pan and scan view. One that I learned about just this week makes the photo taking and sharing process extremely simple. And, it is free.
Dermandar (iTunes App Store)
The app tells you when the iPhone is vertical and ready to create a panoramic image. All you have to do after than is move your phone from left to right (or right to left) until the yin-yang symbol segments match you. Repeating this process elongates the panoramic photo. The link to the VR photo can be uploaded to Dermandar’s website for sharing via Twitter, Facebook, Read It Later or email. You can see an example of the shared photo below.
You can explore the photo by panning and tilting the image as well as zooming in and out. Try it out!
