House Democrats Race To Add Facebook Fans

The Democratic Caucus in the U.S. House of Representatives launched its own version of an All-Star Game Monday, only it's not baseball, but a three-week new media competition that pits members against each other in a race to add fans on Facebook, as well as Twitter followers and YouTube subscribers.

The Democratic Caucus in the U.S. House of Representatives launched its own version of an All-Star Game Monday, only it’s not baseball, but a three-week new media competition that pits members against each other in a race to add fans on Facebook, as well as Twitter followers and YouTube subscribers.

Last year’s winner, dubbed the Most Valuable Player, was California Rep. Maxine Waters, a familiar face to cable news viewers. That competition resulted in more than 57,000 new fans, followers, and subscribers across all three platforms — up from 43,000 in the contest’s first year.
