Danforth Foundation Donates $1.25M to St. Louis Beacon
The St. Louis Beacon — a nonprofit news site that covers area politics, education, health, science, economic, arts, and lifestyle topics — found an especially generous gift in its holiday stocking: $1.25 million from fellow nonprofit organization the Danforth Foundation.
St. Louis Beacon general manager Nicole Hollway said:
We thank the Danforth Foundation for its very generous gift. Our goal over the next four years is to become less dependent on philanthropic funding while sustaining a robust and profitable news organization.
