Designed for people who have more social networks than they know what to do with, CHNL is a media aggregator that puts all your friends’ article links, cat videos, etc. from different social sites onto one page. Today, the company has announced a new integration with daily deal sites Groupon and LivingSocial that will instantly add discounts on entertainment, travel, and goods, to your dashboard as well.
CHNL uses a “human algorithm” to sift through your social feeds for linked content that’s relevant to you. This could include videos, articles, and photos from around the web.
It connects to your Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Instagram, YouTube, Flickr, Soundcloud and Tumblr accounts to give you a bird’s eye view of your entire social media presence with a Pinterest-style layout. You can hit the like button or leave a comment on any post and share what you find on another network without having to leave the dashboard.
With the LivingSocial and Groupon integration, you can just enter the city of their choice to automatically see the deals in your news feed. Both sites offer vouchers for restaurants, spa services, and other experiences from local businesses at deep discounts. The CHNL dashboard will also show Groupon’s Goods and Getaway, or travel, deals.
“CHNL is about putting media first, discovering the content that matters to you, and eliminating social white noise. I’ve been concerned with media and its delivery tools for over a decade, and with the explosion of the social element, media is as fragmented as ever,” said said CHNL co-founder and CEO John Wander in a statement. “As CHNL adds more social feeds and learns more about the content that should be bubbling up to the surface, we’ll only get better at helping users tame this fragmentation and curing their social media fatigue.”
