CT AG Richard Blumenthal Investigating eBook Pricing

Connecticut’s Attorney General Richard Blumenthal thinks that eBook pricing may be anti-competitive.

The AG is investigating whether deals between major book publishers and Amazon and Apple lead to less competition when it comes to book prices.

Blumenthal stated: “These agreements among publishers, Amazon and Apple appear to have already resulted in uniform prices for many of the most popular e-books — potentially depriving consumers of competitive prices.”

This is interesting, considering the fact that Amazon only recently made deals with the publishing houses on eBook pricing.
