New York-based customer relationship and loyalty platform CrowdTwist compared Facebook users' political affiliations with their favorite candies. They found that Democrats tend to favor Hershey's, while Republicans like Lindt.

New York-based customer relationship and loyalty platform CrowdTwist compared Facebook users’ political affiliations with their favorite candies. They found that Democrats tend to favor Hershey’s, while Republicans like Lindt.

CrowdTwist discovered that 40 percent of people who like Lindt on Facebook are more likely to be Republicans, while 70 percent of those who are fans of Hershey’s are more likely to be Democrats.
