Copyright Issue Disqualifies Winner of Peace Corps YouTube Video Contest

A copyright issue forced The National Peace Corps Association to disqualify Marlene Nancy Lopez, the first-place winner of its My Piece of the Peace Corps YouTube video contest, as the song the Peace Corps Volunteer serving in Moldova used in “The Peace Corps Effect” is under copyright and violated contest rules.

Former second-place winner Carrie Pavlik of Pittsburgh was upped to first place and will receive a $2,500 cash prize for “My Piece of the Peace Corps.”
