Social gifting company Cleverbug has announced new changes to its iOS CleverCards app, which allows users to create and send both e-cards and printed greeting cards to friends and family, with personalized Facebook photos. These changes will allow users to add video and audio messages to their digital cards, and also send e-cards via Facebook Messenger and WhatsApp.
Via this update, users can record up to 20-second video or audio greetings from within the app, or upload content from their device’s camera roll. These new features are available as an in-app subscription service, priced at $0.99 per month or $9.99 per year for unlimited usage. In addition, premium subscribers receive access to exclusive e-card designs.
This update won’t change the app’s free availability and features. Users can still choose from thousands of designs and customize them with their own photos and text. The CleverCards app already has customers in 150 countries around the world, and Cleverbug expects over 200 million people to discover CleverCards via Facebook social sharing this year.
“Video has become a core element of social expression via services such as Instagram, Vine, Snapchat and WhatsApp, so it only made sense for Cleverbug to bring this new trend to online greeting cards” said Kealan Lennon, founder and CEO, Cleverbug. “The ability to personalize greeting cards with photos has driven stellar growth in the online greeting card segment for the past decade. We expect personalized video messages to be the next big trend in the industry.”
CleverCards is available to download for free on iOS.
