Facebook Game Car Town Gets ‘Fast & Furious’

Cie Games’ social automotive title, Car Town, is revving up for the May 24 theatrical release of Universal Studios’ Fast & Furious 6 by teaming up with Universal Partnerships & Licensing to integrate elements of the film into the game.

Starting Friday, Car Town players will be able to purchase advance tickets to Fast & Furious 6 after viewing the trailer in Regal Cinemas’ in-game drive-in theater, and purchasing tickets will unlock a virtual 2013 Dodge Charger SRT8. The ticket-purchase option runs through Thursday, June 13, and it is being powered by Fandango.

Cie Games also added three Fast & Furious 6 in-game adventures to Car Town’s Experience Hub, and it teamed up with NOS Energy Drink to offer an instant win code and give game players the change to win virtual branded NOS Scion tC racecar.

Cie Games President and CEO Dennis Suggs said:

We’re continuing to expand our popular Facebook game, Car Town, beyond the social media platform and into the real world. At the same time, we’re providing outreach into social media for Universal Pictures and the Fast & Furious franchise. Both aspects of this promotion speak to Cie Games’ mission to use great interactive content to reach consumers through cross-media integration to promote brands in a fun and unique way.

Cie Games has reached similar arrangements over the past year or so to use Car Town to promote the Tesla Motors Model S electric sedan (via Motor Trend), BBC’s “Top Gear,” the Indianapolis 500, and the Daytona 500.
