Today, Twitter announced the ability to tweet GIFs straight from its web platform, iOS and Android apps. The new feature was announced via @Support, and Twitter users reacted appropriately:

While some users expressed dismay that the new feature may take up unnecessary amounts of data from their cell phone plans, the GIFs do not play automatically in a user’s timeline.
