Amidst the frenzy in the ongoing CES event at Las Vegas which are dominated primarily by consumer electronics companies, MySpace was able to get some mileage thanks to its partnership with Intel, Yahoo and Toshiba. The deal will bring the MySpace experience on your TV sets, thanks to Yahoo’s Connected TV service and Toshiba which will be the first to showcase the MySpace TV Widget on their new products.
MySpace TV is being developed on Widget Channel, a new TV application which is being co-developed by Intel and Yahoo. This will allow you to do your MySpace activities directly from your TV as well as receive updates from your MySpace network.
Specifically, MySpace TV Widget
The MySpace TV Widget will consist of the MySpace TV Dock which will contain links to the “My Profile”, “Messages”, “Friend Requests” and “Status Updates” channel of your MySpace account, and the MySpace Sidebar which will be displayed on your TV screen.
Once the MySpace Sidebar is displayed, you can then interact with the MySpace environment and lets you navigate all functionality of the widget in an organized, familiar and friendly way.
To use the MySpace TV, you need to have access to your MySpace ID and of course the Toshiba TV which is the first to carry the said feature. Hopefully, other TV manufacturers will get the MySpace TV Channel too. Unless of course the idea of social networking on your TV screen does not appeal to you.
