Book View Cafe Releases Steampunk Antholog-e

Book View Cafe has a novel idea of what a digital-age publisher should be: they’re a Web-based writing and publishing collective. One member, Laura Ann Gillman, characterized the collective in an email exchange with eBookNewser: “We’re a true co-operative: everyone contributes to the daily running of the site, either by contributing technical skills, or taking part in the on-going PR outreach. We just celebrated our 1st anniversary, and are going strong,” she said. The collective publishes original works as well as reprints that seem to mostly fall in the sci-fi and fantasy genres.

This week, Book View Cafe, has just released its second all-original anthology, The Shadow Conspiracy, a collection of stories by BVC collective members (including Judith Tarr, Sarah Zettel, Steven Piziks, and Maya Kaathryn Bohnhoff) that revolves around the 1816 gathering of poets at which Mary Shelly’s Frankenstein got its start.
