Barnes & Noble Bets on Nook

It’s been a tough your for brick-and-mortar retailers, but Barnes & Noble saw its sales rise 33% for the third quarter ending January 30th, the first fiscal period that corresponds to the availability of the Nook. Barnes & Noble’s new eReader–which had a patchy and sometimes frustrating launch that landed the device in stores only two weeks ago–is what’s keeping the company’s spirits high despite slower in-store sales, according to reports from both Reuters and Publishers
