Teen Arrested After Posting Bank Robbery Confession To YouTube

Hanna Sabata, a 19-year-old Greenday fan from Nebraska, was taken into custody after boasting about robbing a bank and stealing a car in a YouTube video called ‘Chick Bank robber’.  In the video’s description, which was uploaded to YouTube on November 28, Sabata writes, “I just stole a car and robbed a bank.  Now I’m rich, I can pay off my college financial aid and tomorrow I’m going for a shopping spree.  Bite me.  I love GREENDAY!”

In the video Sabata doesn’t speak, but does hold up $6256 in cash, stolen from the bank, provides details about the car she stole, smokes marijuana, shares details about the bank robbery and more.  Victoria Cavaliere of New York Daily News reports that in the video Sabata is even wearing the same clothes she was wearing when she robbed the bank.

Why did Sabata rob the bank?  In her video she says, “I’m a victim of the governement.  How?  For one the whole system is just a game…But more specifically, because the government stole my baby and they took him away before I could even take him home.  And they charged me with neglect.”

“I may not be a mother anymore.  But I can still find my purpose,” she says.  What purpose is that?  Well, apparently it’s becoming a poster child for not posting confessions of your crimes on YouTube!

Cavaliere writes that “authorities have recovered all but $30 of the stolen funds, local media reports.  The video will be used as part of the evidence against her, law enforcement said.”  Bond is set for $300,000.
