Apps Estimated to be $25 Billion Business in 2013: Gartner
Global revenue from app sales is expected to increase 62 percent this year to $25 billion, according to new research from Gartner.
The Wall Street Journal has the report: “App stores run by Apple and Google Inc. GOOG +1.21% now offer more than 700,000 apps each. With so many apps to choose from, consumers are estimated to spend on average about two hours a day with apps.”
Gartner is also anticipating a growth in cloud services this year. Last week, the company estimated that the public cloud services market will grow 18.5
