Apple Stores Selling No-Contract iPhones

Apple is reportedly selling untethered iPhones – yes, we do mean without a contract – at all of its US retail stores. The move follows news last week that, as of March 26, AT&T is allowing its current customers to buy one without signing a new two-year contract.

Of course, these no-contract iPhones, available as of yesterday at both Apple Stores and AT&T retail outlets, aren’t subsidized, so you have to be willing to shell out some serious cash – $599 for the 8GB model and $699 for the 16GB one.
