Apple Moves From Deleting Galaxy Tablets to Deleting Actual Galaxies

An astronomer noticed today that Apple had taken some liberties with one of its desktop wallpaper.

The overlaid images at right show the default wallpaper in OSX 10.7 and an original photo of the M31 Galaxy. If you look carefully you will see that the M110 Galaxy is missing from the wallpaper. Stars have also been smudged out, but that’s a much smaller issue than the 1984-esque removal of an entire galaxy.

While this is a relatively minor story, the ongoing lawsuit where Apple is trying to block the European sale of the Samsung Galaxy Tab adds a certain humorous bent to the story.

I wonder what would happen if I tried to drive a Ford Galaxy past Apple’s HW in Cupertino? I’m concerned that I might be detained by security while they delete my car.
