Mobile relationship management company Appboy has today announced its support for the Unity game development platform, opening up the company’s user segmentation and engagement toolset to the more than two million game developers within the Unity community.
This expansion comes just days after Appboy announced its $7.6 million Series A funding round, which will further help the company expand its toolset and user segmentation technology.
Developers on the Unity platform will now have access to Appboy’s tech, which includes the ability to target and engage players based on a variety of factors, from the number of times a user has opened an app to how many in-app purchases they’ve made, as examples.
Using Appboy, developers can engage with users through push notifications and emails, as well as in-app news feeds and in-app customer support systems.
GSN Games was announced as an early partner using Appboy’s Unity SDK. The company released Cordy 2 on the platform last week, and has additional games in development.
“To complement Unity’s flexibility, we were looking for a mobile relationship platform that would not only be adaptable to our needs, but also strengthen our app portfolio,” said Eyal Grundstein, Head of Mobile Marketing at GSN Games, in a company release. “Appboy’s Success Squad has proactively worked with us to help us develop best practices using its automated marketing tools like in-app messaging and customer support to greatly improve our interactions with customers.”
