GungHo’s list of partners continues to grow this week with the announcement that Angry Birds developer Rovio has partnered with the Puzzle & Dragons creator to bring an Angry Birds event to the massively popular match-three monster battle game.
From November 18 through December 1, Puzzle & Dragons players will have a chance to complete an Angry Birds-themed dungeon, where they’ll encounter the famous birds from the physics puzzle franchise.[contextly_sidebar id=”5e396b4f36cb97516e64da4f7b4b143f”]”We are excited to announce the collaboration of Puzzle & Dragons and the Angry Birds games from Rovio Entertainment,” said Daisuke Yamamoto, GungHo Online Entertainment Producer and creator of Puzzle & Dragons, in a company release. “Angry Birds is one of the most recognizable entertainment franchises in the world, and we are thrilled to be working alongside Rovio to give our fans a look at what it would be like if Angry Birds characters invaded the world of Puzzle & Dragons.”
From the screenshots associated with this announcement, it appears that at least five birds will be found in Puzzle & Dragons: Red Bird, Blue Bird, Yellow Bird, Black Bird and Boomerang Bird. The exact lineup of characters, and the difficulty of the themed dungeon, is still under wraps.
This is just the latest in a growing line of cross-promotions that have come to Puzzle & Dragons over the past few months. Supercell’s Clash of Clans has been featured in the game on multiple occasions, while a Batman: Arkham Origins event is currently active within the app. That event will end on November 12, just in time for the Angry Birds event to take its place.
