Android YouTube App Updated

Google has released an update to the official YouTube app for Android. The release follows Google’s strategy of separating previously bundled applications from the Android operating system, allowing them to get updated version of apps to users faster. The UI of the new version, which only runs on Android 2.2, has been updated, and most noticeable is the ability to play videos in portrait and landscape. Videos automatically rotate between landscape and portrait when you rotate the phone, even while videos are playing.

When the video plays in portrait it occupies the top half of the screen, with the bottom half displaying info about the video, related videos, and comments.
