Android SMS Bug Sends Messages To The Wrong Destination

A bug exists in Android that is causing some people to have their text messages sent to the wrong destination. While the bug is effecting a relatively small percentage of users, the fact that it was reported to Google in June and has not yet been fixed has lead to several web sites reporting about the problem. Just recently Google upgraded the issue to critical, which hopefully indicates that they are actively working to fix the problem.

The bug appears to be triggered when users receive text messages that originated via e-mail.
