The association said the test asks users for simple answers to questions about weight, age, family history, and other potential risk factors for diabetes, and it calculates results in a numerical score indicating how at risk users are when it comes to developing type 2 diabetes.
Premium delicatessen products provider Boar’s Head also announced that it will donate $5 for every Diabetes Risk Test taken through April 9 to the American Diabetes Association, up to $50,000.
American Diabetes Association President, Health Care and Education Lurelean B. Gaines said:
The more people who take this first step in knowing their risk, the closer we will become to stopping this disease that has reached epidemic proportions. The time to act is now. Taking one quick minute to learn your risk today could lead to a much healthier tomorrow.
