Amazon Net Sales Up 39%, Kindle Drives Growth

Amazon’s net sales grew 39% in the third quarter of this year to $7.56 billion. And the company’s operating income increased 7% to $268 million in the third quarter, compared with $251 million in third quarter 2009. In addition, Amazon’s net income increased 16% to $231 million in the third quarter, compared with net income of $199 million in third quarter 2009.

The online giant attributed much of its success to the growth of Kindle sales.
