Amazon Extends 70% Royalty Rate To Periodicals

Amazon is giving newspaper and magazine publishers a new reason to publish in the Kindle Store.

As of December 1st, Amazon is offering a new 70-percent royalty rate to newspapers and magazines. For each magazine or newspaper sold, publishers will be able to earn 70 percent of the retail price, net of delivery costs. This news comes on the heels of Sony and Barnes & Noble offering new eReaders that are being marketed as both book and newspaper reading devices.

To qualify for the 70-percent royalty terms, newspapers and magazines must satisfy several customer experience requirements.
