DeliX Software’s iPhone photography application Alayer has been updated to version 2.0, introducing a new social feature to users who wish to share their creations with others. The Alayer app focuses on adding layers to photos to change their appearance, including filters, hue or saturation changes. By making changes layer by layer, users have precise control over the final image, as one alteration doesn’t, by default, change another.

The Alayer Social update allows users to share their creations with others, and browse some of the most popular images created within the app. When users find a photo they particularly like, they can save an “Action,” or change from that photo to their personal “favorites” category, and then use it on their own photos at a later time.

The app offers over 125 textures, including lens flares and color gradients, as well as in-depth customization options for each texture. This includes the aforementioned sharpness, hue, saturation, exposure and brightness toolset, among other effects. What’s more, users can duplicate their photos on the fly, so one version of the image is altered, while another isn’t.

Users can add as many layers as they’d like to a single image, and can rotate layers, change their opacity, hide, move or delete anything they’ve previously created.

“Alayer really lets individuals unleash their inner artist,” said Loran Dyrmishi, CEO of DeliX Software. “We’ve included a roster of unique tools to help the users create the most beautiful photos possible right within the app. We can’t wait to see what amazing images our fans will produce.”

Alayer, including the Alayer Social update, is available to download for $0.99 on iOS. Check back soon to follow the app on AppData, our tracking platform for mobile and social apps and developers.
