Slingshot, the photo- and video-sharing application released by Facebook last month, is one of the components of the social media campaign backing the digital video-on-demand re-release of feature film Affluenza by FilmBuff, a company that buys and distributes independent narrative films and documentaries.
The film launches across digital VOD platforms Friday, and next week, FilmBuff will run a contest via Slingshot, in which it will provide clues about cast members, prompting users of the app to respond with photos of which cast member they believe is the subject of the clues.
Winners will be entered into a drawing to receive a signed copy of the film’s poster.
Other components of the social campaign include:
FilmBuff and one of the stars of Affluenza, Gregg Sulkin, began live-tweeting about the premiere Wednesday, and users will be randomly selected to receive signed copies of the poster for the movie. In addition, one user will be chosen to live-chat with Sulkin via Skype or FaceTime.
