TBWA Chiat/Day chairman and worldwide chief creative officer Lee Clow received an interesting phone call last week while driving around Los Angeles.
On the other end of the line was Tommy Hilfiger, the apparel designer who, along with Ralph Lauren and Calvin Klein, takes a playful ribbing at the hands of Clow’s shop in the new “Wore them” ad campaign for Levi’s.
Calling from his own car phone, Hilfiger was responding to one of the agency’s 20,000-plus outdoor ads across the country (shown here), which tell viewers that “Tommy wore them” (along with Ralph and Calvin) when it comes to Levi’s jeans.
