'60 Minutes' Goes Overtime on the Web

“60 Minutes,” the venerable CBS News magazine, is finally getting its own dedicated website which will provide bonus coverage and take viewers behind the scenes of how each week’s stories are produced.

60MinutesOvertime.com will go live Sept. 26 — the same day as the 43rd season of the TV program premieres.

Staffers will put together three original stories from that week’s broadcast and from the show’s extensive archive exclusively for the online audience. Special behind-the-scenes videos will show viewers the production process and will include commentary from “60 Minutes” correspondents and producers.

“So much goes into the reporting of a ’60 Minutes’ story and often there’s more original material that doesn’t make the broadcast, or interesting back stories we don’t get to share with the viewer, says show EP Jeff Fager.
