Fifty-two percent of moms use kids apps, according to a report from BabyCenter.com and Research Now. The report revealed that 81 percent of moms reported use their smartphones to help manage their day. This is up 212% from 2011. Moms are also using tablets more often these days. The report found that tablet usage more than doubled last year, jumping from 29 percent in 2012 to more than 60 percent in 2013.
Kids apps are not the only tools that moms are using on their phones. Seventy-two percent use social media, seventy-two percent use gaming sixty-nine percent use weather apps, and 53 percent use their phones to listen to music and podcasts. The report also revealed the 42 percent of the Moms surveys use their phones to shop, 60 percent use it for banking and finance, and 64 percent use their phones to communicate on parenting social media sites.
Is all of this connectedness affecting parenting duties? Not entirely. Only a third of parents say that their mobile devices distract them from their parenting duties. (Via MediaPost).
