Foursquare is gaining in popularity, and it is beginning to be used by more mainstream businesses to increase walk-ins and visibility. The fashion magazine InStyle has partnered with Saks Fifth Avenue to offer Foursquare users a couple of freebies for in-store check-ins.

The InStyle Foursquare promotion is offering Bobbi Brown lip gloss, mascara and how-to booklet just for checking in to select departments at Saks Fifth Avenue locations.

This type of promotion encourages shoppers to not only enter the store, but to browse specific sections in order to receive a small gift – with the goal being, of course, increased store traffic and purchases.
