Have you ever wondered how much time goes into producing Top 40 hits like Ke$ha’s ‘Tik Tok’ and Rihanna’s ‘Umbrella’? Dave Wallace and Dan Bennett, aka Transit, set out to prove that a Top 40 style song can be created in eight hours with their 8 Hour Challenge to create a hit. In the end it didn’t even take them the full eight hours. They wrote and recorded a pretty catchy song in a little over three hours, plus a long-ass burger break.
