14% of Smartphone Users Auto-location-tag Status Updates

Pew Internet released summary information from a survey that tells us how adults in the U.S. use mobile and social location based services. The highlighted statistic, however, literally only tells part of the more complex story.

28% of American adults use mobile and social location-based services

Pew Internet differentiated between all cell phone owners and smartphone owners as well as all adults in general. Here, I just focus on data from phone using adults. As you might guess, smartphone users checked in far more frequently than the general phone using adult.
