"100 Ways To Love A Cat" Viral Video Butchers The Cat Meme... For 35 Minutes!

Cat lovers and sadomasochists around the world are raving about a new 35-minute long viral YouTube hit describing 100 ways to love a cat. That's right - I said 35 minutes! Uploaded at the end of last week by YouTubers Travis and Jonathan, the video has over 100,000 views and is continuing to spread. After watching this video, I only had two questions. First of all, who decided it would be a good idea to make a 35-minute long video about ways to love a cat? And second of all, why the hell did I sit through the entire thing? Watching this video is kind of like getting a tooth pulled without quite enough Novocain, standing directly under a leaky ceiling as it drip drops on the back of your neck again and again, or taking a long bus trip with a group of kids in the back singing '99 Bottles Of Beer On The Wall'. It's pure torture. The song painstakingly goes through each and every one of 100 ways to love a cat with the bridge repeated between every example - "There are 100 ways to love a cat, 100 loving way. Way 4! Brush them with a hairbrush. 100 loving ways." The thing is, for some reason you want to keep watching. The viral draw of this video definitely has got something to do with the whole YouTube cat meme thing. People love cat videos on YouTube and Travis and Jonathan went with it. While none of the 100 vignettes in '100 Ways To Love A Cat' compare to huge viral YouTube cat hits like Keyboard Cat or Surprised Kitty, I think a lot of viewers are compelled to keep watching in the event that something really hilarious will happen. At least, that's why I think I kept watching. And some of the 100 ways are a little bit worth it, like Way 63 - dress him up in ribbons, or Way 18 - get them a cute collar. I'm not the only person who watched this epic video the whole way through. A number of YouTubers posted response videos, talking about what they thought about '100 Ways To Love A Cat.'
