Recent studies have shown that social media is now helping one in six job-hunters find a new position, and 89 percent of recruiters check the social media profiles of prospective candidates when looking to make a new hire.

What are they searching for? Bad behaviour, predominately, including references to illegal drugs, sexual content, spelling and grammatical errors and alcohol consumption.

Of course, most companies are realistic, and expect employees to lead normal lives, but if all you’re talking about are these kinds of subjects, it’s very unlikely you’ll be asked in for an interview.
