Movies are great, but sometimes you just don’t have the time to sit still for the two or more hours that it takes to watch a feature film these days. That’s why we’ve decided to put together a list of the top 10 60-second movie remakes, re-cuts and spoilers on YouTube. So grab some popcorn and take a seat. In a mere ten minutes you will have seen all of Fight Club, Lord or the Rings, Jaws, Reservoir Dogs, Kill Bill, Forrest Gump and four other great movies.
60 Second Fight Club
This sixty-second re-make of Fight Club is the video that inspired me to put this list together. It was created as an entry in the Virgin Radio Fake Film Festival in Vancouver, BC. These guys did an amazing job with this. In fact, the first time I watched it I thought that it was just re-cut footage of the actual film. The casting is great, the props and locations are great, and it’s a great way to experience all of Fight Club in a single minute.
‘Jaws’ in 60 Seconds
John Wray of Fringe Toast Animation put together this hilarious 60-second animated remake of Jaws while at the UCLA Animation school. “We’re gonna need a bigger boat!”
Paper Dogs – Virgin Radio 2011 Fake Film Festival entry
If you liked the animated re-make of Jaws then you’ll love this 60-second Reservoir Dogs homage, Paper Dogs. It just went up on YouTube 2 days ago and has only 683 views so far, but I’ve got a feeling it’s going to take off. This is another entry in the Virgin 2011 Fake Film Festival.
Kill Bill Parts 1 & 2, in One Minute, in One Take
With over 1.2 million views this is one of the most popular 60-second films on YouTube. This is a one-minute reenactment by YouTuber Will Tribble, aka whycantihavespaces, of both Kill Bill movies. The whole thing was done in one take on a football field and it’s awesome. Yaay!
Forrest Gump in One Minute, in One Take
Here’s another one-minute, one-take reenactment from Will Tribble. This time Forrest Gump gets acted out on a field in 60 seconds. This video has been viewed over 3.2 million times.
Lord of the Rings in 60 seconds
While this video doesn’t give away the ending to Lord of the Rings it does do a great job of outlining the film’s plot in a minute. And it made me laugh. Knock-knock. Who’s there? Evil henchman.
New Moon in a Minute (Parody)
Although the actors in this reenactment don’t really look anything like the original Twilight actors I can safely say that this is a very accurate re-make of New Moon in one minute. Check out the talking dog at the 0:58 minute mark.
Terminator 2 in one minute
You don’t need to watch all of Terminator 2 to know that Arnold is bad to the bone. This one-minute re-cut is badass enough. Embedding has been disabled on this one, so click here to watch.
Glengarry Glen Ross in one minute
Glengarry Glen Ross has got one of the best scripts in the history of mankind and a never-ending supply of memorable quotes. However, it’s also got a lot of downtime. This one-minute clip compiles all the best parts so you don’t have to sit through the entire movie to enjoy them. Now would you go to lunch?! Warning: Language is NSFW.
LOST re-enacted by Cats in 1 minute.
Okay, okay. I know LOST isn’t a movie, but this 1 minute reenactment is simply too good not to make this list. After the show’s season finale last year Tremendous News made this hilarious spoiler reenactment with cats. It’s been viewed over 1.1 million times since it was uploaded in May of last year.
BONUS: 50 Comedy Spoilers in 3 Minutes
If you still have a hunger for more spoilers after watching the ten videos above, The Fine Brothers’ new spoiler clip is just what the doctor ordered. Benny and Rafi Fine spoil a whopping 50 comedy movies in under 3 minutes. Viewers submitted ideas for the movies they’d like to see spoiled by leaving comments or submitting ideas via ePrint. The idea was inspired by the HP and Upright Citizens Brigade improv comedy event that invited viewers to submit ideas via ePrint. The HP ePrint LIVE event is still going on through Wednesday January 26.
