UAB: 40 PR Pros Earn APR Accreditation in Q1

According to the Universal Accreditation Board (UAB), which oversees the APR stamp of approval for the PR profession, 40 out of 57 candidates passed the comprehensive exam to become accredited PR pros in Q1 2011, a 70 percent success rate.

A survey of 9,950 PR Society of America (PRSA) members found that publicists with APR accreditation are more likely to specialize in a PR area than non-APR pros.

The first quarter also saw an eight percent increase in the number of people who made it past the Readiness Review phase over 2010.
