U.S. Army Social Media Guide Stresses Engagement and Security

The U.S. Army has created a social media handbook that outlines what social media is, acknowledges its importance in getting the Army’s message out, and recognizes the need to participate in the different conversations that are happening. Just as important, the handbook offers guidelines to protect the organization and its members.

“Our adversaries are trolling social networks, blogs and forums, trying to find sensitive information they can use about our military goals and objectives. Therefore, it is imperative that all Soldiers and Family members understand the importance of  practicing good operations security measures,” the handbook quotes Sgt.
