President Obama and his team chose to go with scenes of farms, churches, people speaking calmly, and American flags gently fluttering in the wind with their 2012 re-election launch video. Tim Pawlenty, former governor of Minnesota and possible Republican presidential candidate, decided to go with apocalypse and horror.
In the course of the 1 1/2 minute clip, lightning strikes the White House, there’s an extreme close-up of a child’s eye, and there are a lot of gray-hazed pictures of things (gas prices and maps and people standing in line), kind of reminiscent of that movie The Ring.
A previous Pawlenty video showcases his love of the fast-paced break from one scene to the next. But “The Courage to Stand” video embedded below is definitely way more calm. Is it just us, or is the slightly more zen approach the way to go?
