Survey: 42 Percent Say PR Budgets Will Increase in 2011; 20 Percent Say Decrease

Results from this year’s “Social Media Comes of Age:  The Vocus 2011 Planning Survey” found that 42 percent expect budgets to “increase somewhat” or significantly. Only 29 percent responded in kind last year.

The survey also found that 20 percent expect budgets to “decrease somewhat” or significantly. Twenty-nine percent of respondents felt this way last year.

Vocus, which conducted this annual survey with partner Deidre Breckenridge, surveyed 508 professionals (a mixture of PR pros, social media specialists, advertisers, and others at firms and corporations predominantly in the U.S.)
